Breakthrough on Nepalese Hydro Project by Patel Engineering

With attendance of Nepal’s prime minister, Pushpa Kamal Dahal, the final breakthrough on Nepalese Hydro Project, of the 9.5m diameter tunnel took place on the 3.1km section between Face 4 and Face 5 and marked completion of the 8.7km head race tunnel by Patel Engineering Ltd, as this company has reported on LinkedIn.

Also, Arun-3 is SJVN Arun-III Power Development Company’s 900MW run-of-the-river hydropower project on the Arun River in the Sankhuwasabha district of Nepal.

Construction of the 8.7km head race tunnel, a surge shaft, a butterfly valve chamber, two pressure shafts as well as an underground power house complex, are the works of Patel Engineering.
