{"id":9217,"date":"2022-11-26T13:41:29","date_gmt":"2022-11-26T13:41:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tunnelingworld.com\/?p=9217"},"modified":"2022-11-26T13:41:29","modified_gmt":"2022-11-26T13:41:29","slug":"pitt-street-station-taking-form-under-sydney-cbd","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tunnelingworld.com\/?p=9217","title":{"rendered":"Pitt Street Station Taking form Under Sydney CBD"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Posing up to 20 meters under the Sydney central business district, the new Pitt Street Station is achieving landmarks every day, forward the services starting on <a href=https:\/\/www.sydneymetro.info\/\" target=\"_blank\">Sydney Metro<\/a> City &#038; Southwest in 2024.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The team has made considerable headway on the station fit-out, with the southern station structure finished, and new platform screen doors already in place. <\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">At present, five out of six escalators at the Pitt Street south site are installed. The final escalator is said to be installed by the end of the year.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">These escalators take more than 120 hours to install, vary from 19 meters to 38.5 meters long and weigh between 10.5 and 19.5 tons.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Eight additional escalators will be installed at the Pitt Street Station north site over the coming months. However, the fa\u00e7ade and fit-out of the south site structure will continue into the new year. <\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Totally, 117 precast fa\u00e7ade panels are being installed at the south site \u2013 weighing from 1.7 tons to 11 tons each.
