While this rating has been granted by the Green Building Council of Australia, it also recognizes World Leadership in environmentally sustainable building design and construction.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to Priya Pathamanathan, CPB Contractors\u2019 Sustainability Manager: &#8220;This win is attributed to the efforts of the environment and sustainability team. Our CPB Contractors team has gone above and beyond to achieve this six-star world-leading green star rating.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Awarding a Best Practice or above score to each of the nine categories in the SSCC\u2019s Green Star Rating submission, the involved highlights are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The use of double-glazed windows, skylights, and the installation of HEPA filters on all heat exchange units<\/li>\n<li>Installation of a solar photovoltaic system, LED lighting, and thermal insulation, which contributed to an 86% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions at the SSCC<\/li>\n<li>Water efficient fixtures, a rainwater harvesting system, and a subsurface drip irrigation system, which resulted in a 92% reduction in potable water consumption<\/li>\n<li>Individual life cycle assessments for all design features and materials used in the SSCC, which has seen a 130% reduction in overall global warming potential<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In order to deliver the Metro Tunnel Project, CPB Contractors which is a part of the Rail Systems Alliance (RSA), is collaborating with the Victorian Government.
