At the moment the TBM is being dismantled.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Achieving the excavation of 24km \u2013 around 90% \u2013 of the 27.3km twin-tube tunnel is the intended landmark in this project.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In the section towards Fr\u00f6schnitzgraben, less than 400m remains to be bored before the second is achieved, while around 300m needs to be dug towards Gloggnitz.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"display: block; margin: auto;\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Semmering-Base-Tunnel-First-breakthrough.jpg\" alt=\"Semmering Base Tunnel First breakthrough\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Completing five of them currently, the tunnel is being constructed from five locations, with 14 drives.
