{"id":5725,"date":"2021-12-19T07:02:06","date_gmt":"2021-12-19T07:02:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tunnelingworld.com\/?p=5725"},"modified":"2021-12-19T07:02:06","modified_gmt":"2021-12-19T07:02:06","slug":"concluding-another-civil-contract-for-crl1-tunnels-by-singapores-lta","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tunnelingworld.com\/?p=5725","title":{"rendered":"Concluding Another Civil Contract for CRL1 Tunnels by Singapore\u2019s LTA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A contract with a $571.51m (S$780m) value from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lta.gov.sg\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Singapore\u2019s Land Transport Authority<\/a> has been awarded by a Shanghai Tunnel Engineering (Singapore) Pte Ltd \u2013 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ltsambo.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">LT Sambo<\/a> (Singapore Branch) Joint Venture (JV).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The design and construction of tunnels among Aviation Park station and Changi East Depot as part of the Cross Island Line Phase 1 (CRL1), are the domains of this contract.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">While the estimated date for passenger service is 2030, advancing this project is due to be begun this month.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">These tunnels will span 6km and will be built under Aviation Park Road at around 20m below ground level.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In accordance with LTA&#8217;s statement: &#8220;The ground conditions in this area are expected to be challenging as they comprise thick layers of underlying soft marine clay and extensive works will have to be carried out to strengthen the soil condition to ensure that construction works proceed safely.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The regulations, such as aviation height restrictions due to their nearness to the Changi Airport, will be observed in this project, and in order to decrease inconvenience during the construction both LTA and the contractor will jointly work.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">With 29km length the CRL1 is Singapore\u2019s eighth MRT line and involves 12 stations from Aviation Park to Bright Hill.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A contract with a $571.51m (S$780m) value from Singapore\u2019s Land Transport Authority has been awarded by a Shanghai Tunnel Engineering (Singapore) Pte Ltd \u2013 LT Sambo (Singapore Branch) Joint Venture (JV).
