{"id":5402,"date":"2021-11-26T07:47:11","date_gmt":"2021-11-26T07:47:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tunnelingworld.com\/?p=5402"},"modified":"2021-11-26T07:47:11","modified_gmt":"2021-11-26T07:47:11","slug":"infrastructure-ontario-and-metrolinx-revealed-a-statement-on-the-eglinton-crosstown-lrt-project","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tunnelingworld.com\/?p=5402","title":{"rendered":"Infrastructure Ontario and Metrolinx Revealed a Statement on the Eglinton Crosstown Light Rail Transit Project"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.infrastructureontario.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Infrastructure Ontario<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.metrolinx.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Metrolinx<\/a> are publishing the following statement on the suggested settlement on the Crosstown LRT project.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Phil Verster, Metrolinx\u2019s president and CEO, along with Michael Lindsay, Infrastructure Ontario\u2019s CEO, have just published (Nov. 24, 2021) the following release on the Eglinton Crosstown LRT (light rail transit) project:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cOver the past several months, Metrolinx and Infrastructure Ontario have engaged in collaborative and productive discussions with Crosslinx Transit Solutions (CTS), the consortium of private sector companies that has committed to design, build finance and maintain the Eglinton Crosstown Light Rail Transit (LRT) line, to reach a proposed settlement that addresses the majority of the outstanding technical claims on the Crosstown project, including addressing the delay impacts of COVID-19.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cAs the settlement has yet to be finalized, we are not in a position to disclose the details. The current appeal on the COVID-19 claim remains before the courts.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">They have added: \u201cWe\u2019ve made terrific progress on the Crosstown and we are working diligently with our contractor to get it completed by end of 2022.
