{"id":4589,"date":"2021-09-14T11:47:49","date_gmt":"2021-09-14T11:47:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tunnelingworld.com\/?p=4589"},"modified":"2021-09-14T11:47:49","modified_gmt":"2021-09-14T11:47:49","slug":"webuild-wins-sotra-connection-road-bridge-network","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tunnelingworld.com\/?p=4589","title":{"rendered":"Webuild wins Sotra connection Road, Bridge Network"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sotra Link consortium has received a \u00a31.7bn (NOK19.8bn) contract to construct and operate a network of highway assets in western Norway.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The winning team that contains the Italian contractor Webuild with Australian investors Macquarie and South Korean civils firm SK Ecoplant, is going to deliver the RV555 Sotra Connection public-private partnership project in the Vestland region.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Covering building of nearly 10km of the four-lane road, about half of it in a tunnel and nearly 1km of it over a bridge, the program represents the Norwegian Public Roads Administration\u2019s greatest ever deal.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Also, there are three smaller bridges included in the job, along with new car parks and public transport terminals.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cSotra Link has delivered a very competitive offer for the implementation of the Sotra connection and takes significant responsibility and risk for the project to be carried out at the agreed time and price,\u201d stated Kjell Inge Davik, the director of development at the Norwegian Public Roads Administration.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He added: \u201cThe companies behind Sotra Link have extensive experience with the implementation of PPP contracts and extensive experience with the construction of suspension bridges and tunnels. We look forward to a close collaboration with Sotra Link for many years to come.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Pietro Salini, Webuild\u2019s chief executive mentioned that Norway was a strategic market for the company, which was previously known as Salini Impregilo.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He asserted also: \u201cWe have been in Norway for more than 15 years and we have been able to see that the values that make up our Group\u2019s DNA \u2013 such as innovation, sustainability, and inclusion\u2013 are founding values for the country that hosts us.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cThis sharing of values, in addition to the Norwegian government\u2019s push to invest in infrastructure and digitalization, has us view Norway as an ideal partner, a partner we want to work with and a country where we want to invest for the long term,\u201d added Pietro.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He also mentioned: \u201cWe want to put our expertise at the service of the country with a project like Rv555, which we are convinced will be an opportunity for us to grow along with the entire supply chain with which we will work on the project.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sotra Link consortium has received a \u00a31.7bn (NOK19.8bn) contract to construct and operate a network of highway assets in western Norway.
