The TBM is stated to be able to bore constantly for 4.8km without needing cutter changes as it passes under rivers and urban areas in difficult and diverse geologies.<\/p>\n<p>It is argued that the tunnel will have three decks: the upper reserved for smoke evacuation, the middle for road traffic, and the lower to serve for escape and rescue.<\/p>\n<p>The project is anticipated to be completed by the end of 2023.<\/p>\n<p>CCCC declared that this project (Beijing East Sixth Ring Road Reconstruction) is a core component of Beijing\u2019s masterplan, serving to reduce traffic pressure on the East Sixth Ring Road and boost the development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>CCCC (China Communications Construction Company) has declared that one of its domestically-made slurry TBMs \u2013 the greatest of its type to have been developed in China \u2013 has begun excavating the East Sixth Ring Road Reconstruction Project in Beijing.
