{"id":3285,"date":"2021-04-21T09:02:26","date_gmt":"2021-04-21T09:02:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/tunnelingworld.com\/?p=3285"},"modified":"2021-04-21T09:02:26","modified_gmt":"2021-04-21T09:02:26","slug":"future-of-bauma-and-trade-shows-is-mixed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tunnelingworld.com\/?p=3285","title":{"rendered":"Future of Bauma and trade shows is \u2018mixed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">As Klaus Dittrich, Chairman and CEO of Messe M\u00fcnchen stated, in future, the trade shows will be characterized by hybrid events, with a mixture of face-to-face and online activity.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Because of the Covid-19 pandemic, almost all of the trade shows such as Conexpo, which was held in March 2020, have either been postponed, cancelled or reimagined as only online events.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A number of OEMs, such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.accesslifthandlers.com\/news\/jlg-withdraws-from-bauma-2022\/8011664.article\">JLG<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.international-construction.com\/news\/Volvo-CE-pulls-out-of-Bauma-2022\/8011149.article?utm_source=newsletter&amp;urm_medium=Demolition-Recycling-International-Demolition-Recycling-International-25th-March-2021&amp;utm_term=D-RI\">Volvo CE<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dieselprogress.com\/news\/JCB-very-unlikely-to-be-attending-traditional-trade-shows-in-future\/8011541.article\">JCB<\/a> have mentioned that they are not going to take part in Bauma 2022, citing changing customer behavior and the ability to communicate with customers and dealers online.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u201cDigital encounters are not a hundred percent substitute for face-to-face exchanges. In my view, the foreseeable future of trade shows will therefore be characterised by hybrid events, a mixture of online and face-to-face events,\u201d stated Klaus Dittrich.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">He also continued: \u201cOur customers welcome an increased offering of digital platforms. But at the same time, they signal that they will continue to rely on face-to-face trade shows in the future. A survey conducted by the ifo Institute in October 2020 revealed that well over half of German exhibitors plan to continue with trade visitor-oriented trade shows to the same extent in the future. However, almost 40% also said they would scale back their participation in trade shows.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Dittrich added that Messe M\u00fcnchen has been working on digital products for many years and have successfully held loads of online events. The company plans, \u201cto exploit the opportunities\u201d of digital transformation \u2013 which the Covid-19 pandemic has speeded up.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">For the next world\u2019s largest trade show i.e., Bauma Munich exhibition which will be hold in Munch on April 4 to April 10, 2022, Dittrich confirmed that the physical aspect of the show was \u201ccore\u201d and \u201ccannot be presented online in the same way.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Moreover, he asserted that, \u201cwe will also supplement and expand bauma with digital offerings.
