The M5 Civil Works South package includes around 6.5km of twin TBM-bored tunnels, five underground stations, two underground crossovers, five cross passages, a shaft and ramp.<\/p>\n
The contract also includes around 2km of viaduct, one elevated station, a viaduct crossover, an elevated bifurcation and short sections of embankment.<\/p>\n
The works cover the southern first phase of the M5, extending from northwest of K\u00f8benhavn H to north of Prags Boulevard. The new driverless metro is being developed to improve connections to Copenhagen\u2019s expanding eastern districts, including Kl\u00f8verparken, Refshale\u00f8en and Lynetteholm.<\/p>\n
Metroselskabet published a new contract notice on 10 September following market dialogue with prospective contractors. The client said the dialogue was intended to ensure that the project and contract structure were attractive to the market and capable of producing competitive and compliant bids.<\/p>\n
The design-and-build contract will be procured through competitive dialogue under Danish ABT18 conditions.<\/p>\n
Applications for prequalification are due by 13 October. Metroselskabet expects the dialogue phase to run from November 2026 until October 2027, with final tenders scheduled for November 2027 and contract award in December 2027.<\/p>\n
The civil works package is one of several contracts forming the M5 programme. A separate contract covers the transportation system, while enabling works, station and shaft areas, canopies and operation and maintenance will be procured separately.<\/p>\n
