Linking Fornebu and Majorstuen through a continuous tunnel, a breakthrough on Oslo\u2019s Fornebu Line has been celebrated and Crown Prince Haakon, Oslo\u2019s mayor and county mayors participated in the marking of this milestone.<\/p>\n
Responsibility for two of the tunnel contracts was up to Implenia.<\/p>\n
According to Implenia Norge CEO Berger Johannessen: “The breakthrough marked a significant day for the region and he highlighted both the technical achievement and the project\u2019s long-term importance. We now have a continuous tunnel all the way from Fornebu to Majorstuen, and it is an important milestone in the development of a sustainable, modern and more accessible city region. Here, we have not only built infrastructure, we have been involved in a project that has great significance for the development of society in Oslo and B\u00e6rum and the further urban development around the junctions along the route.”<\/p>\n
He also added:”The collaboration with Fornebubanen has been characterised by mutual trust, open dialogue and a common will to find solutions. Building a tunnel in the middle of a city is demanding, but that is exactly why it is gratifying to be able to say that, together, we have come up with robust, safe and sustainable solutions that we can be proud of.”<\/p>\n
Acknowledging the work of everyone involved, Johannessen said: “No tunnel is built by one actor alone. This is the result of hard work, high competence and strong implementation skills of a large team of skilled professionals. Each and every one of you has done your bit for us to be here today. This approval marks the end of one phase and the start of a new one, and we look forward to following the project right to the finish together with you.”<\/p>\n
With almost 7.7km long and has six underground stations, the Fornebu Line is a new metro extension in a continuous tunnel system, between Majorstuen and Fornebu.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
