The Alkimos Seawater Desalination Plant’s precast segment production has been completed by Alkimos Seawater Alliance ahead of schedule.<\/p>\n
With the aim of lining the 2.5km intake and 4km outfall tunnels for the project in Perth, Western Australia, more than 31,000 segments were produced and just 0.2% rejected, well below the 1% budget allowance. Wth a daily performance of producing up to 330 segments, the team completed 37 shifts ahead of schedule, whereas zero injuries were recorded across the entire production phase.<\/p>\n
Acciona said:”Our safety culture was reinforced through 85+ safety walk submissions, daily toolbox attendance, and proactive dust and noise monitoring.”<\/p>\n
The responsibility of the design, build and operation of the plant is up to Alkimos SeaWater Alliance, led by Acciona with Water Corporation and Jacobs Group Australia.<\/p>\n
