<\/p>\nBeing launched by the Department of Public Works and Town & Country Planning, tunneling works have been completed for the Chiang Mai Flood Mitigation Project (Phase 2) in northern Thailand earlier this year.<\/p>\n
As the supplier of the TBM for the project, Terratec said that the tunneling achievement was particularly significant as tunneling projects of this scale were less common outside Bangkok.<\/p>\n

With the aim of integrating with Chiang Mai\u2019s existing stormwater network, the works centred on the construction of a 2.6m-diameter, 256m-long drainage tunnel. In addition to the tunnel drive, the scope included launching and reception shafts, steel pipe connections, HDPE pipeline installation, hydraulic structures, and surface drainage channels.<\/p>\n
Being dug using a Terratec TBM, the tunnel’s lining was formed by the reinforced concrete Universal Tunnel Segments. In order to providing durability and precision throughout the drive, each ring was engineered for both straight and curved alignments.<\/p>\n
Delivery of this project, which strengthens the city\u2019s flood resilience, was done by Summit Grade Ltd, Part. (Sam Prasit), with subcontractor SCG 1995 Co Ltd. Both companies worked under the supervision of Panya Consultant Co Ltd, and Terratec provided technical expertise and equipment support.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
