The positioning of the fourth concrete segment for the Middle East\u2019s immersed tunnel is under way in Iraq.<\/p>\n
Linking Al Faw Grand Port with an international highway, the Basra Tunnel being built at Al Faw Grant Port for the General Company of Ports and is being positioned under the Khor Al-Zubair Channel, whereas running beneath the Shatt al-Arab waterway,<\/p>\n
According to the company\u2019s director-general, Dr Eng. Farhan Al-Fartousi: “Submerging the fourth segment completed approximately 693m of the tunnel\u2019s total length, including the Um Qasr approach, marking significant progress in the project\u2019s execution timeline.”<\/p>\n
The number of segments of the completed tunnel will be 10 segments.<\/p>\n
