With the aim of connecting a new tertiary treatment plant in Mogden STW to the proposed outfall on the bank of the River Thames upstream of Teddington Weir, a new almost 4.2km long tunnelled conveyance route approximately 3.5m internal diameter would be driven by a TBM and constructed, whereas the tunnel would have four shafts.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">For linking the River Thames to the existing Thames Lee Tunnel for water abstraction, it also includes a smaller diameter tunnel, up to 2.2m internal diameter. This tunnel is due to be installed by pipe jacking.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">With a value of \u00a3242m, the NEC4 Engineering and Construction Contract comprises two stages, while stage One is going to provide early contractor involvement during Thames Water\u2019s planning and development consent process.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In case of issuing a notice to proceed with Stage Two, delivery and construction, the contract is expected to be concluded in October next year.
