In order to building the new E6 highway between Sommerset and Meg\u00e5rden in Nordland County, including three tunnels, Skanska has concluded a contract with the Norwegian Road Authority.<\/p>\n
Involving the design and construction of three tunnels, totalling almost 13.8km, approximately 6.9km of road, three bridges and several smaller constructions, the NOK4.4bn (\u20ac380m) contract consists of approximately 21.5km of new road between Sommerset and Meg\u00e5rden.<\/p>\n
The project will be certified to BREEAM Infrastructure Design and Construction phase very good.<\/p>\n
As part of the long-term work to increase traffic safety and capacity on the current E6 south of Bod\u00f8 so that the road system stimulates growth and development in the region, the E6 Sommerset-Meg\u00e5rden is the southernmost and first stage of the overall project E6 Meg\u00e5rden-M\u00f8rsvikbotn.<\/p>\n
While the scheduled date for starting construction work is this month, detailed engineering will commence immediately and the road is planned to be completed during summer 2031.<\/p>\n
