{"id":18927,"date":"2025-04-18T11:53:09","date_gmt":"2025-04-18T11:53:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tunnelingworld.com\/?p=18927"},"modified":"2025-04-18T11:53:09","modified_gmt":"2025-04-18T11:53:09","slug":"santiago-road-tunnel-project-ohla-won-the-contract","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tunnelingworld.com\/?p=18927","title":{"rendered":"Santiago Road Tunnel Project &#8211; OHLA won the contract"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The winner of contract for constructing a road and 1.5km tunnel in Chile\u2019s capital city was OHLA.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This investment with \u20ac280m value awarded by Sociedad Concesionaria Autopista Central SA of the V\u00edasChile Group for a major road infrastructure project between two of Santiago\u2019s main urban corridors: General Vel\u00e1squez and Am\u00e9rico Vespucio Norte.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Being located beneath Cerro Lo Ruiz, construction of a 1.5km twin-tube mined tunnel is the content of this project and it is due to feature two unidirectional tubes: the East tunnel (South-North), with two lanes along its entire length, and the West tunnel (North-South), which os going to begin with three lanes and then continue with two.Also, through modern viaducts both tunnels will link to the two main urban corridors.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Providing a new north-south connection from the General Vel\u00e1squez corridor to the Am\u00e9rico Vespucio Norte highway, the works of this project will be carried out in three sections. While section A includes construction of a viaduct and other structures to link General Vel\u00e1squez with the new tunnel, the twin-tube tunnel under the hill is in the section B and section C involves the execution of four viaducts on three levels to connect with the existing Vespucio Norte highway.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Almost 164,000m\u00b2 of green, recreational areas will be created as part of a sustainable development approach, whereas in the municipality of Quilicura, a park will be built during the tunnel construction phase, while in the municipality of Renca two landmark parks are planned.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The winner of contract for constructing a road and 1.5km tunnel in Chile\u2019s capital city was OHLA.
