So the call for abstracts for has opened and the theme of WTC2026 is Connecting Communities through Underground Infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The organising committee is inviting abstracts on the following topics:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Contractual practices, insurance and risk management<\/li>\n<li>Planning and use of underground space<\/li>\n<li>Site investigation and ground characterisation<\/li>\n<li>Instrumentation, monitoring and remote sensing<\/li>\n<li>Artificial intelligence and machine learning<\/li>\n<li>Conventional tunnelling in challenging conditions<\/li>\n<li>Sequential excavation and NATM<\/li>\n<li>Mechanised tunnelling in challenging conditions<\/li>\n<li>Immersed tunnels<\/li>\n<li>Caverns and power houses<\/li>\n<li>Microtunnelling<\/li>\n<li>Shaft design<\/li>\n<li>Innovative tunnelling<\/li>\n<li>Robotics and automation<\/li>\n<li>Ground support and lining design<\/li>\n<li>Grouting, groundwater control and waterproofing<\/li>\n<li>Digital and information technology<\/li>\n<li>Operation, inspection, maintenance and rehabilitation<\/li>\n<li>Safety in tunnelling<\/li>\n<li>Equity, diversity and inclusion in tunnelling<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The determined deadline for abstracts submission is\u00a0 May 30, 2025, via the submission portal <a href=\"https:\/\/na.eventscloud.com\/eSites\/wtc2026registration\/Login.\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Abstract submissions are limited to a maximum of 500 words and the presenting author must certify that all authors have agreed to the submission of the abstract.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Once abstracts are accepted for a full paper submission, the author can indicate a preference for an oral or poster presentation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>From May 15-21, 2026, Montreal will host the World Tunnel Congress 2026.
