{"id":17926,"date":"2024-09-24T05:20:54","date_gmt":"2024-09-24T05:20:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tunnelingworld.com\/?p=17926"},"modified":"2024-09-24T05:20:54","modified_gmt":"2024-09-24T05:20:54","slug":"bts-calls-for-entries-for-harding-prize-2025","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tunnelingworld.com\/?p=17926","title":{"rendered":"BTS calls for entries for Harding Prize 2025"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The determined deadline for submiting papers by young tunnellers who are vying for next year\u2019s Harding Prize, is January 10, 2025, and the must submit an original paper relating to any aspect of tunneling which they consider of interest to the tunneling industry.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Entries close at 17:00 GMT on January 10.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">While BTS membership is not a requirement, the BTS\u2019s Harding Prize is open to all tunneling engineers aged 33 or younger at the end of the previous year from the submission date.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Review of the papers will be done by the BTS sub-committee, and authors of selected papers are due to be invited to make an oral presentation to the BTS meeting on Thursday March 20, 2025<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Additionally, the prize involves two tickets for the Society\u2019s annual dinner, held in May 2025, where they are going to be presented with a certificate. They will also receive \u00a3750 and a copy of the BTS\u2019s 50th Anniversary Book.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Moreover, \u00a3250 and a single ticket for the annual dinner will be delivered to the finalists whose papers are selected for presentation at the BTS meeting in March. All remaining entrants who submitted a paper to an approved standard as determined by the judging panel, will each receive \u00a3100.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Papers not selected for the final presentation may be published in the ICE Proceedings.
