{"id":17876,"date":"2024-09-11T05:32:34","date_gmt":"2024-09-11T05:32:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tunnelingworld.com\/?p=17876"},"modified":"2024-09-11T05:32:34","modified_gmt":"2024-09-11T05:32:34","slug":"visit-of-competition-winners-from-s19-construction-site","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tunnelingworld.com\/?p=17876","title":{"rendered":"Visit of competition winners from S19 construction site"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The group of five, who are the winners of the TBM-naming competition for Poland\u2019s S19 tunnel have visited construction site and the prefabrication hall in Lutory\u017c where the tunnel segments are being produced.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Excavating the 2.2km tunnel along the Rzesz\u00f3w Po\u0142udnie-Babica section of the S19, the name of Karpatka for the TBM had selected by this group.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">While the responsibility of this competition was up to the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways and the Mostostal Warszawa and Acciona Construcci\u00f3n consortium, it attracted 1,500 entries.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">According to construction manager Artur Salachna: &#8220;The visit was an opportunity to share knowledge on safety and explain the complexity of the construction process related to road and tunnel infrastructure.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In order to building the two-lane tunnel, TBM Karpatka with diameter of more than 15m was commissioned in July.
