{"id":17364,"date":"2024-07-09T05:33:42","date_gmt":"2024-07-09T05:33:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tunnelingworld.com\/?p=17364"},"modified":"2024-07-09T05:33:42","modified_gmt":"2024-07-09T05:33:42","slug":"veidekke-to-upgrade-oslo-tunnels","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tunnelingworld.com\/?p=17364","title":{"rendered":"Veidekke to upgrade Oslo tunnels"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In order to upgrading two road tunnels in Oslo, the Norwegian Public Roads Administration has granted Veidekke a contract.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">With\u00a0 NKr2.1bn (\u00a3156m) value, excluding VAT, this contract includes design and build collaboration contract for the Hammersborg and Vaterland tunnels on Ring 1.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">While the Vaterland Tunnel with 370m length is due to be upgraded, the 380m-long Hammersborg Tunnel will be rebuilt, extended, reinforced and lowered because of security requirements for government buildings in Oslo\u2019s new Government Quarter.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The date of constrcuting both tunnels were 1989, while extensive maintenance is required, including the repair of concrete structures and the roadway.
