The 10m diameter EPBM Martina broke through on Wednesday, completing the second of two single-track tubes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Tunneling through the Garda Morainic Amphitheatre, comprising glacial and fluvio-glacial deposits and aquifers, and beneath the A4 Milan-Venice motorway where the overburden was low, are the challenges of this project.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The path that this new line with 48km length, being constructed for Rete Ferroviaria Italiana, crosses the regions of Lombardy and Veneto.
