Construction planning is ongoing in the Czech Republic for a new highway stretch. <\/p>\n
Building the 12-kilometre section of the D35 highway from Janov near Litomy\u0161l to Opatovce near Svitav started with a ceremonial tap of the hammer in the presence of the political elite and top officials of the Directorate of Roads and Highways.<\/p>\n
The new section of the D35 highway will measure 16.6km in length. The work will cost \u20ac618 million and contains building the Czech Republic\u2019s most extended highway tunnel section plus 17 bridges. It is said to be finished in November 2025 and will alleviate another section of the congested state road I\/35.<\/p>\n
The Janov \u2013 Opatovec section does not link to the already completed section of the highway from Opatovice nad Labem to Ostrov before Vysok\u00fd M\u00fdt. Drivers will have to wait a few more years for the intermediate bypasses of Vysok\u00e9 M\u00fdt and particularly Litomy\u0161l, where there were significant disputes about the highway’s route.<\/p>\n
In comparison, the section from Genoa to Opatovce was nearly problem-free in terms of preparation and negotiations with opponents of the construction.<\/p>\n
The construction of a railway bridge over the \u010cesk\u00e1 T\u0159ebov\u00e1 \u2013 Brno corridor already started in advance on the Janov \u2013 Opatovec section.<\/p>\n
