{"id":10963,"date":"2023-03-30T13:16:20","date_gmt":"2023-03-30T13:16:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tunnelingworld.com\/?p=10963"},"modified":"2023-03-30T13:16:20","modified_gmt":"2023-03-30T13:16:20","slug":"british-tunnelling-society-harding-prize-lecture-set-for-april","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tunnelingworld.com\/?p=10963","title":{"rendered":"British Tunnelling Society &#8211; Harding Prize Lecture Set for April"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The British Tunnelling Society\u2019s (BTS) April meeting, will be the date for presentation of three finalists for this year\u2019s Harding Prize&#8217;s papers.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Harding Prize Lecture is due to be held at the Institution of Civil Engineers in London on April 13.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This year\u2019s finalists are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Jake Rankin:<\/b> CGI \u2013 Artificial intelligence for forecasting tunneling projects<\/li>\n<li><b>Ricardo Manias:<\/b> The Riverlinx CJV \u2013 The pressure ring launch system at the Silvertown Tunnel<\/li>\n<li><b>Agustin Ruiz Lopez:<\/b> Imperial College \u2013 New insights into the structural behavior of grey cast iron linings<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Harding Prize competition is named in honor of Sir Harold Harding, the founding chairman of the BTS. The competition is open to young engineers aged 33 or under.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The main subjects of original papers must indicate to the aspects of tunneling which are considered of interest to the tunneling industry.
