FOT (The Federal Office of Transport) has allocated the construction approval for the new tram-train line that will link Lugano to Ponte Tresa and Manno. This project is the first stage of a modern network which intends to enhance the public transport proposed between Lugano and the surrounding areas.<\/p>\n
The new Lugano tram-train will operate from the centre of Lugano to Bioggio, after which the line will divide into two branches: one going northeast up to Manno and the other going southwest to the current section towards Ponte Tresa.<\/p>\n
