{"id":10633,"date":"2023-02-25T06:41:05","date_gmt":"2023-02-25T06:41:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tunnelingworld.com\/?p=10633"},"modified":"2023-02-25T06:41:05","modified_gmt":"2023-02-25T06:41:05","slug":"nge-wins-a-contract-to-construct-new-330-km-egypt-high-speed-rail-line","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tunnelingworld.com\/?p=10633","title":{"rendered":"NGE Wins a Contract to Construct New 330 km Egypt High-Speed Rail Line"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">France&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nge.fr\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NGE<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tso.fr\/' target=\"-blank\">TSO<\/a>, its rail expertise subsidiary, have signed a contract to construct 330 kilometers of an Egypt high-speed rail line linking the Red Sea Port of Sokhna with Borg al-Arab near the Mediterranean port of Alexandria.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In May 2022, Egypt\u2019s National Authority for Tunnels signed a contract with Siemens Mobility, Orascom Construction and Arab Contractors to construct 2,000km of high-speed rail tracks for what is predicted to be the world&#8217;s sixth-largest such network.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The awarded section is part of a 600km double-track line which is said to expand to Marsa Matrouh on Egypt\u2019s northwest coast.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In addition, another line is scheduled for construction from Cairo to Luxor.
