With the aim of improving the viability and quality of life of the inhabitants of the town, the preparatory works for construction for the 3 km Perca ring road on the SS 49 in Val Pusteria commenced in the current month and this road will provide daily transportation of 26,000 vehicles during peak hours.<\/p>\n
The Perca ring road is a 2,317 m long tunnel and its 632 m is due to be built in the open air, while starting from the western entrance to the village, there is an open section 358 m long. Crossing underground the most northern part of Vila di Sotto, the route alignment will be partly downhill from Perca and partly uphill from the Val Pusteria state road. Also the next connection location of this route with 475 m length is going to be the Val Pusteria state road at Nessano with an open section. <\/p>\n
As the winners of this contract, the Joint Venture Strabag AG, Alpenbau GmbH, Unionbau AG and Moser & Co will concentrate on the preparatory works for the tunnel digging process in the coming weeks. The construction is scheduled to be started in March 2023 and the tunnel will be built from both ends simultaneously. <\/p>\n
While the Rasun-Anterselva municipality will host this competition, this new infrastructure is the first major project commissioned for the 2026 Winter Olympics. Awarding around 30 million Euros, the State is funding the construction of the ring road. Additionally, the redesign of some crossroads, the improvement of the connection between San Cassiano and Cortina, the Val di Riga railway ring and other works for the railway, which will be the backbone of mobility during the sporting event and beyond, along with emission-free buses, are the other projects are planned.<\/p>\n
