The third and final contract has been signed, and Sydney Metro<\/a>‘s Peter Regan and Angela Jeffrey discuss all things Sydney Metro – Western Sydney Airport.<\/p>\n

A new metro rail system will be a major transportation corridor for Greater Western Sydney, connecting communities and travelers to the new Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport.<\/p>\n

More than 14,000 construction jobs will be supported during the construction of the city-shaping project, which will run from St Mary’s through to the new airport and the Western Sydney Aeropolis.<\/p>\n

This 23-kilometer railway will connect residential areas to job hubs, including the new Aeropolis, as well as connect passengers to the rest of Sydney’s public transportation system.<\/p>\n

Sydney Metro – Western Sydney Airport project contracts have been awarded by the Australian and NSW governments. A tunneling contract for the construction of the new twin metro rail tunnels was awarded to the Ghella CPB Contractors Joint Venture in December 2021.<\/p>\n

The rail system that shapes cities<\/h2>\n

Providing an integrated transportation system for Western Parkland City relies on Sydney Metro – Western Sydney Airport. There are several established centers within Western Parkland City, including Greater Penrith, Liverpool, and Campbelltown-Macarthur.<\/p>\n

By 2031, the airport is expected to support nearly 28,000 direct and indirect jobs and contribute to the development of the Western Sydney Aerotropolis, in the heart of Western Parkland City.<\/p>\n

It is anticipated that the Aerotropolis will generate approximately 200,000 new jobs in sectors such as aerospace and defence, manufacturing, freight and logistics, tourism, and research.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
