TBMs Launched on Kanpur Metro Project
Tunneling on a 1km-long passage for India’s Kanpur Metro Rail project began yesterday. The section among Chunniganj and Nayaganj is part of the 23km-long Corridor-1 of the section and will be excavated utilizing two Terratec EPBMs. The principal machine, named Nana after freedom fighter Nana Saheb Peshwa, began the down-line tunnel from Bada Chauraha to Nayaganj yesterday. The second TBM, named many tatya Tope, an overall in the Indian Rebellion, will start work on the up-line bore in about fourteen days.
