Başakşehir Kayaşehir Metro – Inauguration is in February

Başakşehir Kayaşehir Metro Route

Being stretched from Kağıthane, Hasdal, and Kemerburgaz Göktürk to Istanbul Airport, the 32-kilometer metro line will be opened this month as Adil Karaismailoğlu, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure noted. He continued: “All of the metro investments, which serve 270 kilometers in Istanbul today, were made and put into service before 2019. Our concern is the service, but we see that unfortunately, the services that were left are still in place.”

Participating at the Kadir Topbaş Youth and Sports Center Opening Ceremony, Karaismailoğlu said: “Municipality is a sacred service. It has a long history. We learned a lot under the leadership of our President. Istanbul is a school. Our President opened the doors of Istanbul and Ankara to the children of Anatolia. Anatolian children, who love their homeland and nation, entered through those doors, and they now serve Turkey with the education they received here and the vision they gained.”

Karaismailoğlu emphasized that many services were provided to Istanbul from 1994 to 2019 in the next period and stated that the developing and growing Istanbul wanted service and investment. Underlining that especially public transportation is an indispensable part of life, Karaismailoğlu said that daily mobility in Istanbul is approaching 30 million.

“That’s why we made big plans for Istanbul together with those who came to serve in Istanbul in 1994 and our colleagues who gained this vision. If you are going to do a public service anyway, you have to determine the problems that your nation and your citizens will face in the coming years, take measures and make investments. All of the metro investments, which serve 270 kilometers across Istanbul today, were made and put into service before 2019. Our problem is the service, but we see that unfortunately, the services that were left remain in place as they are. They will open the Bostancı-Dudullu metro line today. We handed over this place in 2019 with a progress rate of 70 percent, four years have passed, and they are finishing a line that should have been completed long ago today. We thank him, too, but when we look at the ongoing investments, unfortunately, these will last for decades if it continues at this rate,” stated Minister of Transport Karaismailoğlu.
